What happens when you pass your plan's sales limit

Each plan includes an amount of bundle sales per month. If your bundles sell more than that, you get a warning and time to upgrade before anything pauses.

Passing your limit is good news. It means your bundles earned more than the plan they’re on.

The three stages

1. You’re close to your plan’s limit

At 80% of your limit, a banner shows on the Home page and in Settings. Nothing changes on your store.

Upgrade now to keep selling without interruption.

2. You’ve outgrown your plan

You’ve passed your limit. Your bundles keep selling for 3 days. The banner counts down the days you have left.

Upgrade within the 3 days and nothing pauses.

3. Your bundles are paused

After the 3 days, your bundles are paused.

They show a Paused badge.
Shoppers stop seeing them, and their discounts stop applying.
Nothing is deleted. Your bundles and their settings stay as they are.

Resume your bundles

Your bundles resume in one of two ways:

Upgrade your plan. Your bundles resume right away.
Wait for next month. Your bundles resume on their own at the start of the month, when your usage starts again at zero.

Upgrade your plan

Select See plans in the banner, or go to Settings and select Plan and usage.
Under Compare plans, select the button on a plan with a higher limit.
Choose that plan on Shopify’s plan page and approve it.

While your bundles are paused

You can still open, edit and save your bundles.
You can save a bundle as a Draft.
You can’t set a bundle to Active. Upgrade first.
To hide a bundle for good, open it and select Set to draft. A draft doesn’t resume on its own.

Check your usage

Go to Settings. The Plan and usage row shows your bundle sales this month.
Select Plan and usage for more.

You’ll see your bundle sales this month, and a projection like “On track for about $1,200 by month end”. Use it to upgrade before you reach the limit.

What counts toward the limit

Only what shoppers paid for your bundles, after discounts. See Plans and billing.

Good to know

The Scale plan has no limit.
Development stores have no limit.
If you downgrade to a plan whose limit you’ve already passed this month, the 3 days start right away.
